Brookwater Golf and Country Club’s reputation as an innovator in Queensland’s sporting landscape has grown with the opening of new facilities as part of a five-year transformation plan.
In a ceremony attended by Springfield City Group Chairman Maha Sinnathamby AM, new state of the art Pro Shop facilities were unveiled, providing a new cloud-based golf experience.
Brookwater Golf and Country Club General Manager Patrick Young, a former director of the Asian Tour, is overseeing the development that is focussed on unique enhancements to the course and membership that provide greater leisure opportunities for everyone.
The innovations add to a reputation for the Greater Springfield course which burst onto Queensland’s golf scene in 2002 with a dynamic design by the state’s sporting legend Greg Norman.
“We’re proud to be the No.1-ranked public access course in Queensland and the advances we are making have the potential to provide our golfers with even greater access to a wide range of benefits,” Mr Young said, who has a career spanning 40 years in the industry.
“It is not just our members who will benefit but the wider community as we aim to showcase even more of the natural beauty and benefits this much-loved championship course has to offer in the years to come.
“We’ve designed new affordable membership offers, wide improvements to the country club, inclusive of a lifestyle membership, with continual upgrades to the golf course for the enjoyment of all golfers and leisure seekers.”
The new Pro Shop site overlooks the picturesque 1st fairway at the entrance to the 18-hole course which meanders through pristine native areas and is overlooked by exclusive designer homes including the prestigious Dress Circle at Brookwater.
“We have Queensland’s best double-ended grass driving range, with a fully automated ball system and anyone can join us,” Mr Young said.
Mr Sinnathamby said Brookwater Golf and Country Club’s transformation plan would add to the attractions of life in Australia’s fastest-growing region.
“Springfield city was designed with lifestyle in mind alongside our pillars of health, education and innovation,” Mr Sinnathamby said.
“We have ensured significant green space for our city and there is no better example of this than Brookwater. We wanted this to be a premium offering from the moment it began and that’s why we engaged Greg Norman to design the course.”
The golf office will also be located alongside the new pro shop which features a deck overlooking the first tee. It makes way for a new private members’ lounge inside the clubhouse that will cater exclusively to members and their guests.
A new restaurant menu is also being developed by William Wallace Group, which will cater for members, casual diners and functions in the clubhouse.
